Boyish: Input Output
We are excited to announce a new type of online course, Input Output, designed to support early-stage vocalists in finding their voice and sound while building a supportive creative community.
The first cohort will launch November 29th and run through Dec 10th. This will be a transformative experience and we hope you join us!
Is this for you?
Are you looking to develop your artistic practice? to learn and grow? to better understand and express yourself?
Do you want to move from casually singing to using your voice as a creative force?
Are you seeking creative mentorship, process, and community?
Do you want to push boundaries in exploring and learning more about yourself?
We welcome a range of experience here. We’re looking for people with some musical or vocal ability, but we’re more interested in your desire for creativity, expression, and exploration over experience.
You will develop comfort in songwriting, find your vocal style, and develop language and process to collaborate with producers and engineers.
Become comfortable with creating melody, song structure, and lyrics.
Work with vocal style and tone to expand your range of expression. Discover different aspects of self and voice
Develop comfort with how to collaborate and communicate with producers, engineers, and other artists to create songs
You will be a part of building the Boyish creative community.
Improvise, experiment, and learn in a vibrant community of fellow cohorts, instructors and guest artists.
This will be space where you will be seen and heard.
Meet your instructors.

Active Learning, not Passive Watching
I do / we do / you do – vocal instructors show examples of their creative process in creating [melodies; lyrics; cadences]; the group practices together; then the student demonstrates their individual attempts.
I do / we do / you do – Demonstrations of how to work with a producer to experiment and create unique songs.
Learn with a Cohort of Peers
Group feedback on your song experiments with a community that values rawness and courage.
Opportunities to collaborate on songwriting, harmonizing, background vocals, guest verses.
Accountability and Feedback
Creating together in a group can be inspiring and fulfilling; it will be fun to share your creations alongside the other artists
Sometimes we’re our own harshest critic; others’ feedback can highlight blind spots or find gems in your own voice that you would never hear on your own
